RAID Open Circuit Instructor

This course is designed to provide an independent evaluation so that individuals who have successfully completed the RAID Instructor Development Program (IDP) can earn accreditation as RAID Open Circuit instructors.

Prerequisites for Instructors
To be eligible to take this exam, a candidate must:

Have successfully completed the IDP and received certification.

If applicable, submit a copy of their dive instructor liability insurance.

Submit a Medical Statement signed by a licensed medical professional within the last 6 months, certifying that they are fit to dive.

Instructor Development Program
This program is designed to prepare candidates to earn their professional instructor credentials through the RAID Instructor Evaluation.

Prerequisites for Instructors
A candidate wishing to participate in this program must:

Hold a RAID Dive Master or equivalent certification from a recognized training organization prior to certification.

Be at least 18 years of age.

Have been a certified diver for at least 6 months.

Provide proof of RAID Nitrox Diver and RAID Deep 40 Diver certifications from a recognized training organization.
Have Experience in Night and Navigation Dives (Recommended Certifications)
Provide proof of at least 100 hours of underwater time or 200 logged dives.
Provide proof of First Aid Instructor and Oxygen Administration Instructor certifications.
If the candidate does NOT meet these two prerequisites:

To get started, all you need to do is sign up for RAID and create an online profile. Once you’ve signed up, you can purchase the course online from our “Store” and then start reading the guides and completing the exams and quizzes. Once you’ve signed up, you’ll have immediate access to RAID’s unique FREe-Learning platform, where you can download your course and start your academic training right away. FREe-Learning allows you to download the manuals and complete all relevant tests. Once you’ve done that, you’ll need to contact your local RAID Dive Center to plan your course and have them guide you through the training process. Once you’ve accepted all applicable fees, your dive center will activate your entire training program, allowing you to complete the exams, have all your skills certified, and receive your electronic certification card. Your RAID online course includes all training materials, which you’ll have lifetime access to. Upon completion, you’ll be issued an internationally recognized electronic certification.
